Reverend Edward Wegele is the Senior Pastor. He and his wife, Nicole, moved to Chehalis in August, 2014 and Pastor Ed started serving on September 1, 2014. He is active in the many activities and events in the church community and is beginning to be involved with a few non-profit organizations in Chehalis. He is also involved with the New Church Development Task Force with Olympia Presbytery.

 Nicole and Ed were married on March 8, 2013 and have two dogs.  Yogi is a mix of cocker spaniel, poodle, pit bull, and dalmatian.  LuLu Belle is a fawn pug. They enjoy taking day trips to explore different sites and to visit food joints.  They are big Green Bay Packers fans!  They like watching movies,  playing all sorts of games, traveling, and participating in community events.

 Ed grew up in Bondurant, Iowa, a rural town just outside of Des Moines, Iowa.  His parents Ed and Judy Wegele still live there.  He began attending Bondurant Christian (Disciples of Christ) Church at the age of 11 and was active in church and school activities.

After graduating from high school in 1988 Ed went to Buena Vista College (now University) in Storm Lake, Iowa.  He was active in playing football and serving on the Student Activities Board, where he served one year as president.  He also belonged to several other groups and helped start an Alternative Spring Break program.  He graduated in 1992 with a Bachelors degree in Marketing.

Ed then worked for an office company, where he also volunteered in the Jaycees and served on the finance committee at a local Christian Church.  He eventually ended up back in Des Moines and worked at Junior Achievement and also served as a deacon and an elder at his hometown church.

In 1997, his career pathway shifted to being a full-time youth director at St. Paul Presbyterian Church in Johnston, Iowa. He also worked part-time jobs at a fitness center, grocery store, and a bouncer at a couple of local bars.

Five years later, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia where he attended Columbia Theological Seminary. He served as a Christian Education intern at Norcross Presbyterian Church for two years, as well as serving as an intern in new church development at Village Presbyterian Church (now known as Common Villages) in Ladera Ranch, California. He graduated in 2005 with a Masters in Theology and served at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Charleston, South Carolina as an Associate Pastor for Youth and Young Adults after becoming ordained in 2005.

In January 1, 2007 Ed became the pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Seminole, Texas.  He was very active in the Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, and school committees as well as being active in the Presbytery of Tres Rios, serving for six years on the Church Development Committee and serving as moderator four of those years.

Ed has a younger sister, Erica Penrose, and she is a teacher in Wichita, Kansas.  She is married to Andrew and he has a management position for Fish Window Cleaning.  They live in Wichita with their daughters, Eliana and Spencer.

Nicole was born and raised in the West Texas town of Andrews.  She is the oldest of 3 daughters.  Shana Goff is Nicole’s middle sister.  She is married to Greg Goff and they have 2 sons-Connor and Hunter.  The Goff’s live in Lewisville, TX.  Nicole’s youngest sister, Jamie, who has special needs, lives in Andrews with parents, Jimmy & Gail Martin.
