If you’re new to Westminster Pres., and you want to find out more about us, this is a good place to start! Below you’ll find a quick overview of the church and some of its ministries.
We are a church that seeks to know God’s love in our own lives and to share his love with others. We like to think of our faith as a journey in which we are seeking to know God more and more all the time and we want to invite you to join us as we discover more about who he is and what his plans are for us. We believe that the Bible is the best and most reliable way to discover who God is and what he is like, especially as we look at the life of Jesus Christ and the generous love and forgiveness demonstrated on the cross. Listed below are several ways that we strive to know God more and carry out the plans he has for us:

-
Sunday morning worship services are at 9:00 (Traditional) and 10:30 (Modern). Sunday messages by Pastor Brian are Biblical yet practical; entertaining yet purposeful as we seek to grow deeper in faith together.
-
Nursery and other children’s ministries are provided for all/part of the worship services. Nursery care is provided for the duration of the service. Children 3 years through 5th grade are encouraged to go to Children’s church during the sermon portion of the service for a time of teaching on their level. Our children and youth ministries are led by Kent Smaciarz and a host of volunteers who love God and love children. Children’s Church, The Stand (see next section), Youth group, Vacation Bible School, Christmas Pageant, summer camp and other children’s/youth ministries play a big role in the faith development of our children.

The Stand is our weekly Wednesday night all-church ministry. Ministries and opportunities for faith growth and development are offered for children (including nursery care), youth, and adults. It’s a great way to get to know people in a smaller class setting, and to grow in faith and understanding of the Bible, who God is, and more. Besides growing in faith through sitting in class, there are opportunities to grow through serving others by leading and facilitating a class for children or youth or adults.
- Missions: Westminster is also known for its strong missional presence in the community and around the world. In December of 2007 and again in January of 2009 we were a Red Cross shelter for people displaced by the floods of those years. We have on-going local mission support through the local food bank, gas vouchers and snack packs for people in need, and other local missions. More globally, we are particularly invested in the nation of Malawi, Africa. Malawi is one of the 3 or 4 poorest nations in the world. We were the catalysts for starting a Christian University in Malawi (The University of Livingstonia) that now trains people to be educators, nurses, ministers, and more. We are also involved with secondary schools and other mission endeavors in Malawi. All of these ministries are supported by the time, energy, talent, prayers, and finances of WPC and its people. At least 25% of our church budget is designated to local and global missions.
-
All that we do is for the glory of God, and to grow his kingdom deeper and wider. If you haven’t already, we hope you’ll consider joining us on an upcoming Sunday and giving us the opportunity to meet you. In the meantime, please take the time to find out more about us on the rest of the website.
